I forgot Rodney Holmes played in Santana my second favorite Santana drummer after Dennis Chambers, Graham Lear third, Leon Ndugu Chanceler fourth

Hiram was one of those guys like Jeff Beck or Mike Bloomfield. As soon as they play, you know It's them. Distinctive and never predictable.

Believe it or not, back in the late 6os, very early 70s, PBS (as we called it channel 13 where I lived) would fill in stuff between shows. I remember VERY CLEARLY watching a live performance of Santana performing this song, incident at neshiber (sp? Lol). I was with my mother and my baby brother in the high chair being fed by my mother. Sorry for the long details! Soo vivid in my memory, I couldn’t resist!! I'll see my mom next week. Can't wait to share! Lollol hahaha!!

I've always loved the song but this has to be one of my least favorite tones that Carlos got in his career. Just my opinion.

What a superb album Oneness is...grossly underrated...I wonder why Santana does not play the numbers from this album in his concerts. There is a certain "Indian-ness" in this album like that of Swing of Delight which we Indians love and can identify with. I really wish and hope that Santana comes up with a Raga based album with the likes of L Subramaniam, Zakir Hussain etc. It would be wonderful to hear Santana's melodic, meditative interpretation of Raga/s. Santana is the only guitarist who with his tremendous grasp and liking of Indian music will be able to do justice to it.

His best line up in the early 80’s for sure! Die hard fan since Moonflower, PRS transition for Carlos from his signature Yamaha sound, though I prefer his Yamaha he still slays whatever guitar he plays! Greg Walker incredible vocalist and Gram lLear the great on drums, his best drummer ever in my opinion and they’ve all been exceptional!

I saw Santana in 1973 at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City NJ with Tower of Power. I haven't found any video of that performance. Awesome show!

I was here! OMW to visit at 62yrs old! That concert was the bomb, we all came in the night before they were pushing the fence they knocked it over and ducking yes run with the crowd! No kiding if you didn't stay up and run you would have been trampled and this is the group I wanted to see that day! 😍 you too 👶
